18.10 – British EBF Novice Stakes – 5f
TUKI TUKI has her quirks but her promising debut third at Newbury on soft ground behind Araminta is a serious piece of form given the winner has won Listed/Group events since to advertise the form. She then filled the same spot on the all-weather last time at Lingfield and, with the drop in trip looking favourable, she is fancied to come good at the expense of Flying Kiss.
Tips: Tuki Tuki
18.45 – Daisy Lambden-Francis Birthday Handicap – 1m
ASTRONOMICA won very smoothly in May when encountering soft ground for the first time, beating a higher-rated opponent and backed that up with a good second over course-and-distance last month. She looks sure to give another good account of herself with plenty in her favour.
Tips: Astronomica
19.20 – John & Lou’s Significant Birthday Celebration Handicap – 1m3f
PORTORO failed to make an impact in his first three starts but the move into handicap company transformed his mindset as he scored by nine lengths on his handicap/turf debut at Salisbury. A 13Ib rise makes life tougher but if he stages a repeat of that success, it will take a good performance from anything else in the field to see his colours lowered.
Tips: Portoro
19.50 – British EBF 40th Anniversary Fillies’ Handicap – 7f
LIBERALIST made the frame in her first two starts last year before finding improvement to make a winning return in a Thirsk maiden event back in April. She wasn’t able to get competitive in a Group 3 last time but the drop in class is a good move and conditions will be up her street as well. She must have a chance.
Tips: Liberalist
20.20 – Naylors Estate Agents Handicap – 6f
DIAMOND DREAMER acquitted himself reasonably well when he contested two races on testing ground last year and should be fitter from his return effort last-time-out. He is on a dangerous-looking mark of 60, which looks more than exploitable, and a top jockey has been booked to ride. He must be respected.
Tips: Diamond Dreamer
20.50 – Kube – The Premier Events Venue In Leicester Fillies’ Handicap – 1m3f
Ralph Beckett’s SWEET FANTASY turned in a very good third place effort at Haydock last-time-out and ran really well on her only previous start on soft ground when fourth at Catterick back in October off this mark. She can go well under Rossa Ryan.
Tips: Sweet Fantasy
